Upper Blepharoplasty
Restore A Brighter, More Refreshed Upper Eyelid Appearance
Upper Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to remove or reposition excess skin, muscle and, where appropriate, fat from the upper eyelids. It helps improve hooded or heavy eyelids, restoring a more open, refreshed appearance while, in some cases, improving vision affected by excess eyelid skin.
What Is Upper Blepharoplasty?
Upper Blepharoplasty, commonly known as upper eyelid surgery, is designed to address excess upper eyelid skin that develops through ageing or genetic factors. By removing or repositioning excess tissue, the procedure restores a smoother eyelid contour and improves the appearance of tired or heavy-looking eyes.
Unlike Ptosis Surgery, Upper Blepharoplasty primarily treats excess eyelid skin, rather than weakness of the eyelid lifting muscle.

How Upper Blepharoplasty Works
What to Expect
-
Your surgeon assesses your eyelid anatomy, skin quality and visual concerns before planning the procedure.
-
The eyelids are numbed using local anaesthesia to ensure comfort throughout the procedure.
-
An incision is made within the natural upper eyelid crease. Excess skin, muscle and, where appropriate, fat are removed or repositioned before the incision is closed with fine sutures.
-
Swelling, bruising and mild discomfort are common during the first one to two weeks. Patients are advised to avoid strenuous activities while healing.
-
Sutures are usually removed during a follow-up appointment. As swelling settles, the eyelids appear smoother, lighter and more youthful, with scars becoming progressively less noticeable over time.
